1 main tool to use here.. A must have !... A balsa stripper ! :o)
Yep, you are free now... You can have balsa strips of any size ! That's handy.. Really handy !
So, the elevator is made with 8mm balsa strips. 20x8 for the LE, 8x5 for the "ribs" :
And it's time to shape the LE using the second must have tool in a modeler workshop... A mini planer !
The mobile surface is made with 2mm plywood, and 8x5 balsa strips and constitute the main "bones" of the elevator :
Then, 8x2 balsa strips are glued and sanded in shape :
And it's now finished. Just a bit of sanding, and balsa block for the Robart's hinges :
The rudder is made with the same principle :
